I received my itinerary for my annual trip out to San Diego for the MivaCon16 in March and was a bit surprised by the return flight. The flights out there are the typical route, Birmingham to Houston, Houston to San Diego. But the flights home routes me through Miami. It’s been a very long time since I was in Miami. The hour between flights will just give me the time to make it from one gate to the next. Of course, arriving just before 9pm means I won’t see much of the outside world either. The Houston layover is just a little bit better at 1 h 37 m, but that assumes the flight out of Birmingham is on time.
I truly appreciate the folks who booked my flights since they worked with my request for a mid-day flight home to allow me enough time to stop at In-N-Out Burger. I bring home 4 burgers (that’s all that fit in my carry on bag), one for my husband, one for me, one for a friend of my husband and one for the two of us to split. The last time I picked up the burgers, I learned I could get the sauce on the side. The burgers travel much better that way.
Hoping to have a little extra time to see the coastline at LaJolla. Of course, my “duties” during the conference are to photo blog the event. None of my sites made the finalist list for the Blades Awards this year. On the bright side, that gives me a bit more freedom to roam the floor and take more pictures.
